Kombi drivers and Taxi drivers operating the Nust route demand School ID"s before students bode their transport. This came about after one Commuter omnibus was stopped by suspected police in plain clothes and all students were left stranded at a garage in town.
Funny that these guys feel that their problem can only be fixed by allowing students with Identity cards to bode their cars who know they also might be "POLICE", as we know they are also part of students at Nust.
The issue of transport pertaining to Nust students is a critical issue as students feel they are not adequately catered for. This argument comes after students paid US$20 being "BUS LEVY" whilst there is no bus for students up to now.
One student noted that the Nust bus was there at the 21st movement celebrations carrying students for the bash, and on some occasions it is seen carrying NUSTEP students (these are form four students learning at Nust during weekends).
Students then ask if the administrators of the institution do not see the need for a bus for students, to carry students from town to campus even at a fee.
Who is more important a paying student or the social cooperate responsibility of the University? Why not carter for the students who have paid their parents hard earned cash for a bus that has never been seen?
